In this tutorial I used six passes to enhance the high pass effect. I liked this tutorial it was very detailed which helped make the picture look as good as theirs.
I tried to follow the steps as best I could. Mostly throughout i just used the brush tool which helped me through all of it. Then along with the various blending and shadowing techniques.
